Comment: This is going to be your main skill to gank and make every hero hate yours. It does not only does damage but it also slows. All of that plus your awesomeness at night and your damage nothing will escape your bloody hands.

Crippling Fear (F)
In the night, the Night Stalker can cause intense fear in enemy units, causing them to miss attacks and be unable to cast spells. This has reduced effect during the day.
Level 1 - Miss on 40% of attacks, slow by 4%. Lasts 5 seconds.
Level 2 - Miss on 40% of attacks, slow by 8%. Lasts 6 seconds.
Level 3 - Miss on 40% of attacks, slow by 12%. Lasts 7 seconds.
Level 4 - Miss on 40% of attacks, slow by 16%. Lasts 8 seconds.
• Causes 10% miss and silences for 3 seconds at all levels during daytime.
Mana Cost: 90
Cooldown: 12
Comment: This is somewhat a very useful skill depending on the situation, as it can make your enemy to miss attacks and silence them. However, I do not use this skill unless I am versus a heavy team of disablers/nukers/etc. I will talk about this skill later on the guide.

Hunter in the Night (G)
The Night Stalker is at home at night. He attacks and moves more swiftly.
Level 1 - 20% movement speed, 30% attack speed.
Level 2 - 25% movement speed, 45% attack speed.
Level 3 - 30% movement speed, 60% attack speed.
Level 4 - 35% movement speed, 75% attack speed.
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A
Comment: This gift given to Balanar is why he has his title as a serial killer. At night he not only becomes one of the fastest heroes in my opinion in game but also he gains an awesome attack speed boost. You will love this character by this skill and the "Void + Hunter" Combination.

Darkness (R)
Creates a period of darkness for the Night Stalker to thrive in.
Level 1 - Turns day into night for 25 seconds.
Level 2 - Turns day into night for 50 seconds.
Level 3 - Turns day into night for 80 seconds.
• This skill pauses the current time, so if it's cast at night it prolongs it.
• With Aghanim's Scepter the Night Stalker will get unobstructed vision at night, meaning that trees and terrain will not block his vision.
• In contrast to how Aghanim's Scepter works with other heroes, this improvement does not have anything to do with his ultimate (Darkness), but instead is active all the time.
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: 180/150/120
Comment: This is not the best ultimate skill but it does the trick. It has many uses which I will explain later on in the guide and I hope why it is an ultimate skill.

Early Game:
Welcome to Hell
You have chosen Balanar, a wise choise if I may say, to slash and dice all that opposes you. I will start by talking about why Balanar is a good/bad hero.
Pros:
- One of the fastest heroes in game
- At Night Balanar is pretty much unstoppable
- Very good Gank/Tank-er
Cons:
- He might not be the best hero at day due to Hunter in the Night skill is useless and Fear makes the opponent to only miss 10% and silence is only for 3 seconds in all levels of the skill.
- Has pretty low mana pool at first
- Balanar might be a creep if versus disablers (mostly at day) and specially nukers (both day and night)
Skill Build:
I bet this question about my skill build will come up. "If fear can make the other miss attacks and silence, why to max it at last?". Well, as I said before, it depends a lot on the situation. I mean, if you are not playing versus heavy disablers/nukers, this skill is pretty much useless, and even though it has silence, it wont affect Balanar, especially at night, he can take more than just a few hits and skills does not matter. Next point, I did not get Darkness at level 6, because Darkness at level is just awfull. Huge cooldown and very little duration when activated and our primary target is to get HitN and Void max as soon as possible before the first night comes. Now, I will talk about the multiple uses of Darkness. At night, Darkness has only one purpose, TO MAKE THE NIGHT LONGER, and at day you can either get the chance to kill multiple heroes by activating it for the the short time and getting the kills or use it as an escape method, as Balanar gets full movement speed bonus at night.
Phew, that was interesting learning even more about Balanar skills! but this is just the beginning.
Item Build:
Ok! the game has started and everybody is mad-clicking to choose their favorite character even you with Balanar! Now what to buy...
I would recommend share a courier with a friend or if you are alone then just wait until you get this:
that is when you are alone, but if you are playing with many people try this:
Now if you have some money to buy the items needed to make the bracer always buy
first as the +2 on every stat is better than +3 strenght of
.
Some extra items that might be useful are:
Which Lane?
Good question, now I would recommend for newcommers to choose top or bottom doesnt matter if you are sentinel or scourge. Why? Well, there is more distance between towers and you have a lot of space to fight. Now, for those bold people that want to go to middle, is not that you cant fo mid lane, but its harder to play on. So you can go mid with ONLY and ONLY if you are versus a melee and even with that condition you might be at disadvantage. Which takes me to my next point.
Versus 1/2 Melee:
It is a fair game as both characters have to get close to hit each other. However, dont be confident as it also depends on the melee hero, so be aware of melee/nuker/disabler hero and that might be a problem. With 2 melee, try not to deny nor last hit if they are stunners or nukers.
Versus 1/2 Ranged:
You are at a disadvantage. You should stick to your range creep and tower, and only go to last hit and deny, or in some cases just stand behind the creeps receiving the exp, and if this situation comes up do as I said and dont be the "first blood" just stay behind the creeps hug the tower, do not last hit nor deny, ask for help to an ally, or at the worst situation, ask for a lane change that suits more Balanar. Especially if it is versus 2.
Versus 1 Melee + 1 Ranged:
This is a half half situation just be sure to be aware of the situation and do the above said. No deny, no last hit, no harass, especially when they has slow, stun or nuke.
You Are Ready!
Ok! You now got your hero, items and you chose a lane and are waiting for the creeps to appear. The first thing to do is to block block block! and for that, this guide written by Caspian will explain everything about Creep Blocking! After you are done with that and got to the fight you should farm doing the following:
- Deny
- Last Hit
- Harass (if possible)
Last Hit: To last hit is what it says it is. When the enemy creep is at red health and it only needs 1 last hit to die, you just go and kill the creep with "last hit" giving you the creep kill money and even more exp.
Deny: To deny is the same as last hitting but your own creeps to reduce the amount of exp the enemy gets with the creep kill. So when you see one of your creeps almost dead go on and press "A" and attack your own creep.
Harass: To harass basically means you annoy your opponent by constantly attack them when they come close to last hit or deny and as a result making them ask for help or go back to their fountain to heal.
So for last hitting and denying the key point is TIMING. Timing is everything for both techniques, so practice and you will get the hangs of it.
Now, your main goal for early-game is to get to level 6 and have both Void and HitN to level 3 each, and if you can get to level 8 and max both skills even better but level 6 and level 3 for each skill should be enough for the rampage coming.
Now the first night is approaching so before the night comes go back to the fountain or let the courier do theshopping and fill your inventory with bracers NOW!
Items You Should Have at the End of Early-Game:
If you did pretty well, last hitting, getting that extra gold your inventory should be like this:
Conclusion:
Early-game for Balanar is basically farm by denying, last hitting and filling your inventory with bracers!
The first Night is coming...which probably means first blood and more are coming caused by YOU my friend.
Now start saving money to make
End of early-game.
